Campus Gym and Library

with one comment

I am finishing up my last semester as an undergrad, at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. While I am excited to finally graduate I can’t get past the fact that if I had any real motivation I could have earned a masters or a doctorate by now; but hey some time bachelors degrees take a decade.  In my last year I have decided to take full advantage of the gym on campus after realizing that my tuition pays for the gym whether I use it or not.

I was on the tread mill a couple of months ago and I attempted to enter in my weight, when I mistakenly entered 109 instead of 190 and the tread mill told me that was an invalid response.  Now I don’t know if you have ever had a tread mill call you a liar before but it is a little awkward, as there is no way to defend your self and say that it was an honest mistake.  Soon after I started jogging it was time for girls intramural volleyball to begin, and a score of girls came walking past me in spandex shorts. Needless to say I was a little distracted and I was lucky that I didn’t fall off the treadmill.  I don’t know why they have to wear those shorts to play volleyball, but God bless for doing it.

I have also started bringing my lunch, as the food at the Elliot University Center (EUC) food court is highly addictive and very expensive.  EUC has the only Quiznos that I crave and the only reasonable explanation that I can come up with to justify the constant cravings and extremely high price is that they must put cocaine in the food.  Since I carry a book bag, a bag for my gym clothes and lunch box I sometimes feel like a homeless person carrying all this stuff.  If I every come across a random shopping cart I am pretty sure that at this point I would confiscate definitely it.  Most days I take the stairs up to seventh floor of the library as it is a quiet study area, I don’t know if walking up seven floors is helping me burn any extra calories but it is causing me to carry fewer books.
